Avi Katz
AdministratorIf you ever of someone being a “jack all trades”, it’s Avi. In fact, it was his in-depth knowledge of so many facets of the home care business that earned him the position as Alpine’s Director of Operations. A hands-on Director, Avi is as comfortable discussing patient care issues with a nurse as he is at resolving insurance issues on behalf of one of our clients.

Michelyn Johnson, BSN, RN
Director of Patient Services, NYC RegionSometimes a gem is right in front of you, but you need to be looking for a gem before you see it. That’s how we found Michelyn. She was working as a nurse, then a case manager and then a patient services manager right hear at Alpine. So when we went looking for the perfect Director of Patient Services, we didn’t have to go far. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Nursing School at Mercy College, Michelyn is a caregiver first, but she’s also a teacher, a mentor, a counselor, and a trusted advisor to patients and their family members. “I love being a nurse, I love to make a difference in people’s lives, and with each step in my career I’ve been able to make a positive impact on more and more lives.” Is it any wonder we made Michelyn the leader of our care team?

Lori Roche, MSN, RN
Director of Patient Services, Buffalo RegionTen years as a hospital nurse in emergency, ICU, medical/surgical and other areas, seven years in home care as both nurse and supervisor, four years as a director of nursing and six as a senior level health care administrator is a lot of experience. Add to that a long list of degrees and educational credits, and a host of achievements that bettered the lives of literally thousands of patients in the greater Buffalo area, and it’s easy to see why we jumped at the opportunity to get Lori as our first Director of Patient Services in the Buffalo Region. We wanted a local person who knew the people of the area well. We wanted someone who had the pedigree and the experience to lead our team. But most of all, we wanted a care-giver, a person who sees heath care through a patient’s eyes, and who knows as we do, that the best place to be cared for is right in your own home. “I’ve worked with thousands of patients and I can say with all sincerity, there’s no place like home. If it’s an option, we want people to be able to stay at home and helping to make it available, effective and affordable is a dream come true for me.” Sounds like the kind of person you want overseeing your care team, doesn’t it?

Deborah Forbes, RN
VP Business Development and IntakeAfter 20 years in nursing, Deborah has helped improved the lives of tens of thousands of people. And that experience makes her perfect for leading our intake team. If you’re new to home care, these are the people you meet first, when you’re just getting started. And Deborah has the entire team at Alpine working like a well-oiled machine. She oversees all of our screening, application reviewing and documentation for our home care referrals. And she does it all while maintaining relationships with hundreds of health care providers – hospitals, medical practices, nursing homes and more - who all rely on her and her team to provide home care to their patients. Is it any wonder Alpine is one of the fastest growing homes care companies in the city? We think not.
