  • Mark Lewis
    Director

“Give me the ADHC. It’s what I’ve wanted since I joined the company”. With that impassioned plea, Mark Lewis took over the administration of the Bushwick ADHC, including our Trinity and Ridgewood locations. Centers always tries to find just the right match for each facility, someone who will blend equally well with a diverse staff, participants from every cultural background in the city, lots of family members and still be able to manage the daily demands of running three locations with scores of members who each have their unique requirements. It helps to choose someone who can really move. And with five marathons under his belt already, Mark is that person! He does it all and makes it look easy. And he’s a really nice guy. Stop in and say hello. You’ll both be glad you got to meet!

  • Carl Record, RN
    Director of Nursing

Carl has been a nurse for over thirty years and shares his knowledge as an assistant professor at Long Island University. He joined the Centers family in 2010 and his presence at the Ridgewood Center was felt from the very first day. “I always enjoyed working with older people but not in a hospital setting. What I love about this job is that we’re keeping people from needing to go the hospital in the first place. And we’re keeping their days full and their lives a bit more exciting at the same time. “ With the support of his therapy and activities team, Carl sees to that every participant in our program looks forward to arriving every day, and goes home with another day of good care and happy memories to think back on. If you’re thinking of visiting the Ridgewood Center and maybe even joining our group, make sure you meet Carl when you visit. You’ll be glad you did.

  • Richard Osario
    Director of Recreation

Richard has a great job. He’ll be the first to tell you that he gets paid to have fun, and to make sure everyone around him is having fun, too. And the fact is, he is great at having fun! Richard heads the Recreation Department for Centers Health Care’s Adult Day Health Care program. It’s his job to know what people like to do and to see that they get to do it. Often. Born and raised in Queens, Richard earned his degree in Art Therapy from Long Island University and has been working in the adult care world for ten years. “I’ve been having fun for ten years, but there’s a serious side to what I do, too. I love to use the science of recreation to engage people and to enhance their lives, to see how recreation keeps them sharp, focused, and often how it can be used to help people recover from strokes, cardiac incidents, surgeries and other medical conditions. Trips, games, crafts, they all serve a very high purpose in our program.” But for most of our residents, it all comes down to having a great time each and every day they spend at one of our Adult Day Health Care facilities. And we have Richard to thank for that.

  • Steve Adelman
    Program Coordinator

Steve is the kind of person who always seems to be right on the scene. “As Program Coordinator at the Ridgewood Center, I get to be involved with everything. I see what’s happening with our skilled nursing team, our therapy team, the activities group and social work. I get to know the participants and their families, and I hear all of their stories. We have a great group here and I’m thankful to be in a position where I get to have a positive impact on the lives of so many people.” With an attitude like that, we’re thrilled to have Steve on our team, and you’ll be thrilled to have him on your family’s team.

  • Jasmin Maldonado, LSW

Jasmin is a graduate of the prestigious Stony Brook University and comes from a large family in Brooklyn – obviously someone who is very smart and knows how to get along well with others. If those aren’t two great characteristics of a social worker, then you can add compassionate, caring, and a zest for helping others and you have the perfect description of Jasmin. She has been at the Ridgewood Adult Day Care Center for just over a year and has already made an impact on the lives of everyone here.

  • Miguel Cheque
    Director of Therapy

Everyone loves Miguel. He’s one of those holistic healers that understands the need to treat the whole person, not just one specific injury. On any given day he may be found setting people up on various exercise machines, helping others through a series of hands-on range-of-motion stretches, or massaging sore backs. Is it any wonder that therapy is always one of every resident’s favorite part of the day?
