Riverview Manor Resident Turns 104 Years Old

- July 19, 2017

On Monday, June 5th 2017, Aida Moscato, a nine-year resident at Northern Riverview, turned 104 years young. The next day, the loving staff at the Haverstraw facility threw her a big celebration.

Born on June 5th 1913 on Mott Street in New York City, Aida grew up in the Bronx with her four brothers and two sisters and together they enjoyed playing a game called “Countries” with the local neighborhood kids. She went to PS 32 elementary School, then PS 45 middle school at PS 45, moved on to her local High School.

In 1939, at the age of 26, Aida got married to Phillip Moscato at the famous Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in the Italian section of the Bronx on 187th Street. Together they started a full family of three boys and one girl and were married for over 50 years.

After World War II there was a high demand for dresses, so Aida went to work where she sewed flowers and buttons at a dress shop. She also worked in an office and then settled at home as a homemaker. Aida's favorite thing to do is cook her favorite food, steak.

A piece of advice Aida gives to young people, "always be good and respect your elders".

Today Aida can be found playing Bingo, enjoying live entertainment, and socializing with her peers daily.

A Very Happy Birthday to Aida and many more!
