Renovations Underway as Williamsbridge Manor Starts on a Major New Facelift

Centers Health Care's premiere facility is getting a brand new look

Bronx, NY (March 29, 2017) – Centers Health Care, the largest post-acute health care continuum in New York, is undertaking another remodeling effort. This time, they are overhauling their very first facility, the Williamsbridge Manor Nursing Home on Tomlinson Avenue, which is where the company began in 1996. 

“It’s been a long time coming and I’m so excited that the time is right for us to remodel Williamsbridge Manor,” said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care. “To say that Williamsbridge Manor occupies a special place in my heart is a bit of an understatement. This was the first home in what has become one of the largest post-acute health care continuums in the entire northeast and believe me, we never expected that. I was the administrator here back in 1996, and we just wanted to deliver good care.” Today, Williamsbridge Manor is a perennial 5-Star facility on Medicare.gov, providing outstanding care and rehabilitation to 77 long-term and short-term residents.

The facility’s current administrator, Erik Zimerman, is just as excited. 

“Being named the administrator of a facility that has so much history with the Centers Health Care family gave me some very big shoes to fill. We have a great team here and a really special community of residents and this is all being done for them. They deserve the best and we’re giving it to them.”

The planned renovation, which has already begun, is expected to take six months according to the ONE70 Group, the contractor who is managing the construction.

“The excitement begins at the curb and goes through the whole facility,” said Zimerman.   “When we’re completed, our residents will a have newly landscaped lawn and patio area to enjoy in the nice weather and our view from the street will be completely new. We’ll have a brand-new entrance that reflects the Centers Health Care look”.   

In addition to remodeling the facility's exterior, the interior will also be completely revamped. From the lobby and hallways, upgrades continue into every resident room. The ONE70 Group is redoing every resident room, as well as finishing them with new wall-coverings, furnishings and state-of-the-art, proprietary lighting technology that allows residents to control the brightness in their rooms remotely. An overhaul of the physical therapy suite, dining room, activities center and offices will complete the renovation and make Williamsbridge Manor stand out even more as one of Centers Health Care's finest skilled nursing facilities.
