TROY, N.Y. >> The Troy Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing on Marvin Avenue was filled with excitement Friday afternoon as several people came together to host a year-end holiday birthday celebration for two residents who are each more than 100 years old.

Resident Jessie Ravish, whose birthday is Jan. 18, turned 103 this year. Bruno Doriguzzi turned 102 years old on Sept. 10.

Back in 1914 and 1915, when Ravish and Doriguzzi, respectively, were born, the President of the United States was Woodrow Wilson. In 1914, the first scheduled commercial flight took place Jan. 1 between St. Petersburg and Tampa, and Major League Baseball player Babe Ruth — whose accomplishments eventually earned him a spot in the Hall of Fame — made his debut.
