Corning Center and Centers Health Care Donates 2 Suction Units to the Corning Fire Department

Staff and residents at the Corning Center for Care joined together at a reception Thursday with city officials and firefighters to make a generous donation to the Corning Fire Department.

The Corning Center, located at 205 East First Street, donated two needed medical suction units, which cost about $1,200, to the fire department.

"We look up at people who look out for us, and they are the fire safety and the police, who so often give their safety up for us," said Tina Cook, regional director for admission and marketing for Center Health Care.

"I would like to thank the Corning Center for the generous donation of two medical suction units to the Corning Fire Department," Davies said. "The department regularly uses these suction units at medical emergencies we respond to." Davies said the updated units will provide many years of service to the community.

"Purchasing this vital equipment will help us in providing the best possible service to the community," Davies said. Mayor Rich Negri thanked the Corning Center for the needed donation.

"On behalf of the City of Corning and the City Council let me say thank you," Negri told the crowd at the reception. Moments after presenting the new medical suction unit to Davies, Cook said "We donate these to your department and we thank you for all that you do."
